The Apple Watch 11th Series Evaluation: Wrist-Flickingly Good and Improved Power Endurance

Our most recent smartwatch Series 11 brings the one thing many users actually want from their wrist gadget: improved power endurance.

Otherwise, the updated device acts as a straightforward upgrade from the previous model, keeping pace in styling, dimensions and capabilities, with many of its upgrades originating from software.

This new model is also priced £30 lower within the United Kingdom, priced starting at £369 sterling (449 euros/$399 USD/A$679), positioned above the fresh redesigned £219 Watch SE in the budget category alongside the £749 Ultra 3 for top-tier users.

Design and Display

Like last year's tenth series, the new model comes in at 9.7mm thick, creating a slim fit on your arm, easy to sneak beneath shirt sleeves and easier to wear during sleep.

The 2,000nit interface is plenty bright for viewing inside and outside, maintaining readability to read off-angle, enabling taking a peek for timekeeping or messages simple.

Protecting the display using glass that is twice as scratch resistant as before, though not quite as tough of sapphire crystal, that remains exclusive on the pricier titanium versions.

Performance and Battery

The new watch utilizes equivalent S10 silicon as last year's model with new capability for 5G connectivity option and stronger reception during situations when you're in the wilderness.

The batteries demonstrate growth in capacity significantly for the 42mm and 46mm watches respectively.

Bigger version achieved approximately two full days during evaluation with sleep tracking but without exercise.

Most people will just about record two days and two nights before needing a charge, which takes 66 minutes using a 20W or more powerful adapter (not included), reaching approximately 70% in 30 minutes.

If you do go out for a run, the device can continue around 8 hours while recording, sufficient duration for a marathon or multiple events.
